Wordwall and vocabulary introduction
Use the PLACEMAT activity to explore vocabulary. Each student has a different word from the vocabulary list (found on the links to useful resources page and in the story Ump's Fwat). In the middle section students write the word correctly. The dictionary definition is written in another section, the students write the definition in their own words along the top, on the left students write examples of how the word can be used within the topic and in the right context and in the right they draw an image or symbol. The placemats can then form a word wall which students can refer to throughout the unit.

Supporting videos and text
These videos can be used throughout the unit to support understanding of key terms and the characteristics of entrepreneurial behaviour.
Bootleg-Alex Shearer (supporting text)
Bootleg is a useful supporting text. It incorporates themes from Civics and Citizenship relating to how and why governments make decisions. Key terms such as black market, prohibition, bootleg, legal, illegal, apathy, manufacture, supply and demand are cleverly dealt with in this text.
The following is an excerpt from the text.
The Good For You Party is running the country and forcing everyone to lead healthier lives. Chocolate addicts Smudger and Huntley watch in horror as their favourite food is swept from the shops and Chocolate Trooper police arrest anyone caught with sweets.
When the boys discover the recipe for making chocolate and a hidden store of the right ingredients, they fight back. Their secret bootleg operation is soon a brilliant success - but how long can they keep selling illegal chocolate before the Good For You thugs catch them.
The book was made into a mini series and Anime. Below are the media resources to use as a comparison to the text.
